Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear, at the V&A

Nova India is delighted to be back at the V&A shop this Autumn at the Undressed exhibition. Undressed shows ladies’ underwear through the ages, especially corsetry. No wonder Victorian ladies were prone to fainting. Their insides were pushed out of place by the tight lacing and the stiff boning. It also shows the craze for bustles and hooped petticoats that eventually became so wide that ladies had to pass through doors sideways. We have come a long way since then!

Nova India has a lovely cashmere shawl edged with lace on sale at the V&A shop. It is very soft so perfect for lounging around at home, yet smart enough to wear out over an evening dress. Do visit the show which will be on until March 2017.
